Serving more Arizona Communities than any other Hospice.
Today, Hospice Family Care has a team of 500 professionals and volunteers who serve patients and their families in 4 Arizona communities.
Patient advocacy, extraordinary employee training and support, and a continued attention to meeting the changing needs of the terminally ill are three of the reasons why Hospice Family Care has remained an industry leader over the past 15 years.
An important hospice benefit is the availability of volunteer services for the patient and family. Thoroughly trained volunteers are able to meet many needs of our patients in the Hospice Family Care program and their families. Our volunteers can really brighten the day for the patients that they visit. Some of the services a volunteer may provide include:
- Visit the patient as a friendly visitor.
- Provide respite for the caregiver.
- Transport the patient to the store or to appointments.
- Run errands for the patient.
- Read to the patient, play an instrument, write letters or play games.
- Provide light household assistance.
- Take patient on outings, such as to lunch or to visit a friend.
- Visit patients in the inpatient unit.
- Assist the patient with pet care.
- Be a comforting companion.
- Assist family members and visitors in the inpatient unit.
Volunteers are a welcome and integral part of the Hospice Family Team and supplement the care provided by the physician, nursing staff, counselors, chaplains and social workers.
